Good evening, everyone. Autumn has arrived in Sapporo before we knew it. It’s only a matter of time before winter sets in. Snow starts falling in December. I wonder if the autumn leaves are a major tourist attraction at this time of year. The hot spring towns are bustling, too. The other day, I visited Wakkanai, Japan’s northernmost city. It’s a place every Japanese person wants to visit at least once in their life. It takes about an hour to get to Wakkanai Airport from New Chitose Airport. http://sarobetsu.or.jp/swc Wakkanai is home to Japan’s northernmost points, Cape Soya and Cape Noshappu, as well as Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park, with the Sarobetsu Wetland known as Japan’s highest high-altitude marsh.Rishiri and Rebun Islands are also famous for their kelp, scallops, and sea urchin, making it a popular seafood destination. Hokkaido is home to Hakodate, Niseko, Otaru, and Sapporo, but if you have the time, why not extend your visit to Wakkanai?Just across the sea, you can see Sakhalin, Russia, and feel the majesty of the Sea of Okhotsk. Of course, there are no soaplands or escort clubs in the city, so if you’re looking for fun, head to THC Sapporo in Sapporo. ๐ I’ll post here again when I travel to Hokkaido again.
